Here is a list of the sales tools and resources we use or recommend at Selling Solo and Lonestar Sales Performance. Some we love so much like Infusionsoft we now resell them. I thought it would be helpful to create a resource page that you can always come to for all of your solopreneur and small business needs. I’ll add to it as I learn more, but you’ll notice that in the future I will reference this page quite often. I recommend bookmarking it for your reference and convenience. Enjoy!

New Cover Genie Pro
Cover Genie Pro is a online graphics application for creating book covers, box covers, binders and reports and computer icons that can be used on your website and in your marketing materials. It is the tool we used to create a number of the icons on this site. The cost is $49 and it quickly pays for itself.
Infusionsoft is sales and marketing automation software specifically designed for small business. combining CRM, email marketing, lead capture and e-commerce. We have used Infusionsoft for years and decided to become an Infusionsoft Certified Consultant to offer it to my clients.
I use Infusionsoft to map out each step of my sales and marketing strategy and automate repetitive tasks such as follow-up. With Infusionsoft you can nurture leads, build better relationships and save time. Infusionsoft is customized to your business and processes. It is an investment but when done right it can have a huge impact on your sales results.
LeadPages is a great tool for quickly creating professional landing pages for your website. This is a huge timesaver that will allow you to take templates and customize them with your branding and information. A good landing page is critical for taking unknown website visitors and turning them into a business lead.
LeadPages allows tracks the effectiveness of each template by a variety and ranks each template according to how they perform then allows me to pick the highest converting templates and create a professional landing page in about 15 minutes. Online meetings and webinars made easy. People complain about the monthly cost but to me this tool pays for itself each month. Once you get the discipline of scheduling online meetings instead of in person meetings you will quickly realize that online meeting software is a most have. Every week my software allows me to have meetings with clients across the country and around the world As someone who travels a lot I can run a web meeting from anywhere in the world with little more than a good internet connection, laptop and USB Microphone. Evernote is my online digital notebook and is invaluable for me researching different sales and marketing topics and then archiving the data for later use. Have you ever found something on the internet and thought I should save this for later? Evernote allows you to save that site, page and refer back to it when you need it.
I can add all kinds of different notes in a topic notebook. Notes can be webpages, online articles, pictures, or voice memos. I love the plugin for the Chrome browser which lets me capture information with the press of a button. Click here to see Evernote.
Do a lot of proposals in your business than you might want to use a proposal preparation software like QuoteRoller. Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Microphone
This USB microphone is a great choice for the small business owner. This microphone provides great audio quality making it excellent for webinars, podcasts, interviews, online meetings and even your 80’s inspired garage band. I have owned a number of more expensive USB microphones but at under $65 USD this is a great microphone at a great price. Checkout the Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Microphone
I have a web camera on my laptop and my desktop so why do I own this? Well to be honest I spend a lot of time in web meetings and my webcam that came with the computers tended to have poor quality. The c920 webcam offers full 1080p HD video and great sound. As long as you have good lighting and a relatively new PC running Windows 7 (the c920 isn’t Mac compatible), your video meeting participants will see you in all your HD glory (it’s up to you whether or not that’s a good thing. Teleprompt + 3
A teleprompter is great memory aid for the speaker. While you can make a reasonably convincing presentation using a teleprompter without any practice, its real strength comes when the speaker has rehearsed the piece prior to recording. Instead of seeing a teleprompter as something to be read, think of it as a helpful guide to keep you on the right pace. Add Teleprompt+ 3 and you turn your iPad into a teleprompter. The iPad is a great sales tool for small business owners. The iPad turns on instantly and is perfect for displaying or explaining complex information during a sales meeting. The iPad, by its very nature, is visual so adding concise videos can be helpful to selling and building greater value into your sales process Add additional software like Evernote, Telepromt+ 3 and you have versatile tool that will quickly pay for itself. I have worked with a number of different companies and have showed them how the iPad can change the way the sell and communicate with prospects and clients. See the Apple iPad Air here
Have a tough time remembering all your passwords? I do in fact it is a huge problem trying to remember the passwords for every piece of software or website I belong to. Now you can go down the road of using the same password on many sites but that is not safe. I use LastPass which is online secure password keeper. Free for the basic level software (that is all most people need) this software can automatically offer you up the right password when you are on a saved site. Don’t forget another password. Canva is an amazing tool for the clueless I am talking about myself -not you), and can come in handy for professionals too. It makes designing uniformly easy for everyone, but it’s by no means aimed only at amateurs. The simplicity and richness of the tools will get you coming back for more every day, and according to Canva’s developers, the current features are only 1% of what they have in store for us. Have a lot of meetings? Once you have used an online meeting scheduler you will never go back. Instead of the back and forth of everyone checking their calendar I use TimeTrade to send online access to my calendar allowing prospects and clients to book themselves in to a time slot that works for them. TimeTrade syncs with my online calendar allow prospects to set up meetings off my website following the scheduling parameters I set up. At about $49 per year this is cheap productivity software you can’t beat. See TimeTrade here.
Are there things to do that you don’t have time for or that take you forever? Use a website like Upwork (formally ODesk) to hire contractors to do those tasks that are not worth your time and energy to do. Need a banner designed for your website or an excel spreadsheet of all the dentists in Mobile Alabama then Upwork can help. Hire subcontractors all across the globe to do the work quickly and cheaply. Upwork works in the middle and provides software and systems to facilitate the exchange of money for work. Long drive or commute, but not in the mood for music? Listen to a book. Turn your car into a mobile university by listening to sales and marketing books on Audible. In our recommended book section you can find a wide variety of great books that you can also find on Audible. You can buy a monthly subscription basis or buy them individually. At any one time I have 15 or 20 books on my phone that I can listen to in the car or with headphones while I am taking a walk or waiting for a meeting. Okay, it might not help you grow your sales but a fresh cup of coffee might keep you from killing someone. When you work on your own you will find that if you make a pot of coffee you will never drink it all. If you do manage to drink it all you will be so wired that using your mouse clicks will start sounding like machine gun fire. I love my Keurig it allows me to make one cup of coffee (or tea) just when you need it. Always fresh and no line up. I need coffee.
